Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) member Idham Kholik reiterated that there would be no extension of registration of political parties as candidates for the 2024 general election.

"We have stressed this several times in our explanations to the public. We told (political parties) to complete the dossiers because the registration period would not be extended. We will give time until 23.59 WIB (western standard time) today," Kholik said here Sunday.

KPU would accumulate the registration documents on Monday (15/8) morning. However, if the documents uploaded to the Political Party Information System (Sipol) are incomplete by 23.59 WIB, the registration process of the party cannot be continued, he said.

Parties whose dossiers are incomplete by 23.59 WIB will be declared as parties that do not register as candidates for the 2024 general election.

"For those who bring complete documents before 23.59 WIB, we will check them. After we confirmed that (the required documents) are complete, we will issue registration receipts even though they have passed 23.59 WIB," he added.

As of Saturday (13/8), the KPU had recorded 10 political parties whose dossiers were incomplete. Of the 10 parties, two of them have completed their documents on Sunday.

"The two parties have returned to the KPU, and after we checked the documents at Sipol, they were 100 percent. Currently, the files are still being examined. The parties are the Republiku Indonesia Party and Parsindo (Indonesian People's Voice Party)," he said.

While another party, the Pelita Party, had informed that it would come to KPU to complete the dossier.
