East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggar (ANTARA) - The sports tourism event "Rinjani Color Run" is expected to boost post-pandemic economic recovery, specifically through the tourism sector, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated.

The Rinjani Color Run was organized by ANTARA News Agency's West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Bureau in Sembalun, East Lombok District, NTB, on Saturday.

"I applaud the organizer of the event that continues to innovate in exploring the potential of NTB," Uno noted in his remarks virtually from Jakarta at the opening of the event.

The sports tourism event was part of the commemoration of Indonesia's 77th independence anniversary. The event is aimed at reviving the tourism sector in Mount Rinjani.

"This (the event) can boost MSMEs. Explore all potential that we have to recover and revive the people's economy," the minister remarked.

Minister Uno also reminded participants of the event to adhere to the health protocols.

"COVID-19 health protocols are very important to be implemented. The Rinjani Color Run is also expected to improve the people's awareness on health issues," Uno added.
