Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Some 3,048 military and police personnel are readied to secure President Joko Widodo's working visit to Jayapura District, Papua Province, Tuesday, Commander of the Jayapura Military Resort Command Brigadier General J. O. Sembring stated.

The personnel would also secure various activities of the president on Wednesday including inaugurating the Papua Football Academy (PFA) at the Papua Bangkit Stadium, Sembiring noted here on Monday.

The head of state is also scheduled to hand over business registration numbers to Papua's mothers engaged in micro, small, and medium businesses (UMKM) at the Toware Doyo Sports Stadium.

From Jayapura, the president, in the company of Indonesian Military (TNI) Chief General Andika Perkasa, will continue his working visit to Mimika District, Sembiring stated.

While furnishing details on the security situation in the jurisdiction of the Jayapura Military Resort Command, he said it is safe and remains under control.

"The current security situation is conducive, and (I) hope it can continuously be maintained," he affirmed.
