Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia continuously conducts its transformation programs to improve competitiveness in facing various changes amid the digital disruption era by targeting millennial consumers.

Director of Courier and Logistics Business of Pos Indonesia Siti Choiriana noted in a statement here on Wednesday that the market share expansion is conducted by targeting millennial consumers through internships to introduce the company's business.

"Why do we use universities? Because we were previously far from the millennial world, we were far from millennials," she remarked.

According to Choiriana, approaching university students is needed to promote Pos Indonesia's good services.

Earlier, Choiriana had attended a student orientation event at Widyagama University, Malang, East Java, on Monday (September 12, 2022).

She said that at the event, the students were enthusiastic to know about various changes in Pos Indonesia, from earlier only a mail or document delivery company to currently becoming a logistics company that can serve the delivery of various packages, both small- and large-scale.

Pos Indonesia offered the students to join internship programs in the company's branch offices spread across the country.

On the occasion, she noted that in each phase, around 100 to 200 students were keen to join internships in Pos Indonesia.

"Pos Indonesia is not inferior to other companies, even better because we have access to 228 countries, including all parts of Indonesia," she stated.

As of late July 2022, over one million MSMEs and 4,700 corporations have used Pos Indonesia's courier and logistics services, and Pos Indonesia held 7.1 percent of the national market share.

The company currently has national and international networks that guarantee the delivery of goods to remote areas of the country and up to 228 destination countries in the world.

In addition, Pos Indonesia has over 50 thousand agents, 27,600 drop points, around 10 thousand couriers, 4,800 post offices, 151 warehouses, and up to 510 billers of financial services.
