"After the 2022 IN2MOTIONFEST, there will be quality improvement, so that this event can be an annual occurrence that makes Indonesia proud," Cooperatives and SMEs Minister Teten Masduki noted through a statement, Friday.
Moreover, the 2022 IN2MOTIONFEST involves hundreds of domestic and overseas designers, he remarked.
The 2022 IN2MOTIONFEST, themed "Local Product, Global Look," is being held here on October 5-9, 2022.
The 2022 IN2MOTIONFEST features works from Indonesian designers through exhibition and fashion shows.
This event features 163 fashion designers with 17 fashion shows that showcase over 1,256 products with various categories, including ready to wear, deluxe streetwear, office wear, cocktail wear, and syar’i evening wear.
The fashion products featured in the IN2MOTIONFEST prioritize the use of local fabric and style.
Masduki expects that the first IN2MOTIONFEST can strengthen Indonesia's modest fashion branding, give birth to popular and globally competitive designers and brands, and improve entrepreneurs' capacity at the national and international level.
Despite this, the event still considers the aspect of sustainability and takes into account the entire garment supply chain and cycle, starting from raw material source, production method or technique, work ethics, and waste management, Masduki stated.
The sustainable fashion principle aligns with the thayyiban (kindness) principle that is a part of the halal concept. This is one of the forms of strengthening the Indonesian Muslim fashion branding in the domestic and global market.
