Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs is preparing to roll out language training scholarships for lecturers, employees, and alumni of religious universities who want to continue their master's and doctoral studies abroad.

"We have prepared scholarships for lecturers, employees, and alumni of religious universities who want to improve their language competence in order to study master's and doctoral degrees abroad," the ministry's spokesperson Anna Hasbie informed here on Wednesday.

According to Hasbie, under the program, participants can choose between Arabic and English language training. The training will be conducted over a period of three months.

The program costs will be fully borne by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and will be paid directly to the organizing institutions, including the cost of the final language test.

"We have also prepared a living fund for the participants of Rp4 million per month. There is also a fund for transport from their area of origin to the location of the program implementation," she further said.

Meanwhile, head of the Sub-Directorate for Manpower at the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education of the ministry, Ruchman Basori, said the ministry is cooperating with language centers at State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKINs) for implementing the program.

In addition to language skill enhancement, participants will also receive training on research proposal writing, tips on studying abroad, civic knowledge, and religious moderation.

Basori noted that the ministry has readied 200 quotas for the program, and participants will pursue the training at several PTKIN language centers spread across regions.

As for the timetable of the program, registrations will take place from October 17–23, 2022, the administrative selection and assessment will take place on October 26–28, and the results will be announced on October 31.

"The implementation of the program is from November 7, 2022, to January 27, 2023," he added.
