"Together, we push MA to improve its internal affairs," Ahmad stated at the Senayan Parliament Complex, here, Tuesday.
In addition to conducting fit and proper test of candidates for MA judges, DPR also has the authority to conduct supervision of MA judges, he remarked.
The DPR has conducted its supervisory function over the MA justices, he noted.
Following the naming of another MA judge as suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), he called on the public to support MA in conducting its internal improvements similar to those of the Indonesian Police that is under the public's spotlight following cases involving the police's high-ranking officers.
On Nov 13, 2022, the KPK announced that it had named MA Justice Gazalba Saleh as a suspect in a bribery case related to the handling of cases at the court.
The anti-graft agency had earlier named non-active MA Justice Sudrajad Dimyati (SD) and several others as suspects in the same case.
Hence, the KPK has, so far, named two MA judges as suspects in a bribery case.
