Jambi (ANTARA) - The Jambi's Sultan Thaha Airport received the 2022 Healthy Airport Award from the Health Ministry, thereby reflecting its commitment to providing a safe and comfortable transportation facility.

"We received this Healthy Airport award as a form of appreciation for our commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and healthy airport area," according to Executive General Manager of state-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) at Sultan Thaha Jambi, Siswanto, here on Thursday.

The airport was assessed on the implementation of hygiene and health indicators carried out by the community of workers, customers, and the airport community.

Siswanto explained that the award became a source of encouragement for the management to continue to improve service performance during adaptation to the new normal era.

He said the award received by the management of Sultan Thaha Airport could not be separated from the support and cooperation of the local government, Jambi Port Health Office, and stakeholders of Jambi Province.

Siswanto also lauded the entire airport community at Sultan Thaha for the hard work in providing the best service as well as the Jambi Port Health Office for offering its assistance.

"This award makes Jambi Province proud. Hopefully, it would improve the tourism sector and improve the regional economy," he stated.

The Healthy Airport Award is expected to increase the trust of customers to use means of air transportation, especially through the Sultan Thaha Airport.

Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi is always committed to implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 both in the corporate and airport environment. This aims to increase people's confidence to travel safely and comfortably in the new normal period.
