Families, specifically parents, play a very important role in providing education to children in accordance with the values in mental revolution
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture reminded parents that strengthening character education for children can start from families.

"Families, specifically parents, play a very important role in providing education to children in accordance with the values in mental revolution," Mental Revolution, Cultural Advancement, and Sports Achievement Deputy at the Ministry Didik Suhardi stated.

Values contained in mental revolution comprise work ethics, mutual assistance, and integrity, he told ANTARA from here on Thursday.

"These values can be introduced to children through character education from an early age, whether in families or in schools," he remarked.

To this end, the ministry encouraged all parents to play an active role in assisting children and becoming a role model for them.

"In addition to ensuring optimal nutritional fulfillment, parents play a role in providing character education as the primary key, so that children have a compassionate and loving character," he explained.

The ministry continues to intensify education and dissemination of information on the Mental Revolution National Movement.

According to Suhardi, all members of the public should actively participate in supporting the Mental Revolution National Movement by campaigning a change in mindset, life patterns, and behavioral patterns to achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

"A productive and quality generation is the main determining key for the development of Indonesia to achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia, and everyone can start from the smallest level in society, namely the family," he noted.

Meanwhile, Head of the Indonesian Child Protection Institution (LPAI) Seto Mulyadi spotlighted the importance of intensifying character education in families.

This is because children, who grew up with love and compassion, will evolve into adults that are also loving and compassionate.

Hence, assisting children, setting a good example for them, and teaching them to behave will make them grow into individuals with good character, he remarked.
