I am sure that under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will get stronger
Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will intensify in tandem with the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Malaysia.

"I am sure that under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will get stronger," President Jokowi noted in a joint statement with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim after the meeting of the two leaders here on Monday.

Jokowi believes it is an honor for Indonesia to receive Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on his first overseas visit after being sworn in. He also again congratulated Anwar on being inaugurated as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Jokowi stated that Malaysia was not only a close neighbor of Indonesia but also an allied country, with strong relations.

Meanwhile, Anwar Ibrahim expressed his highest appreciation to President Jokowi for inviting him to visit Indonesia.

He believes that relations between Malaysia and Indonesia were not just regular diplomatic in nature. He emphasized that Indonesia held a special place in his heart.

On that occasion, Anwar also said that Jokowi had sound experience in leading the country, and he really lauded it.

"Once again, I thank you, and I feel I have made the right decision to choose Indonesia as the first country I visited," he stated.

" I feel very happy with the attitude, friendship, and personal brotherhood of the president as well as the willingness of colleagues to help and facilitate," he remarked.
