"They can coordinate with the BMKG and BNPB," he stated at the Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday.
In addition, he urged the Jakarta BPBD to always provide quick information to the public regarding disasters.
The acting governor also appealed to the public to pay attention to information conveyed by the regional BPBD in an effort to suppress the potential impact of disaster in landslide-prone areas.
The Jakarta BPBD will update information related to the disaster, including the potential for landslides, through their Instagram account @bpbddkijakarta.
"This effort aims to help us in taking action as soon as possible," he remarked.
Based on data from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), 15 points in Jakarta Province that are included in the Intermediate Zone have the potential for ground movement due to extreme weather.
The 15 points in Jakarta where ground movement can potentially occur comprise the Menteng District area in Central Jakarta; sub-districts of Cilandak, Jagakarsa, Kebayoran Baru, Kebayoran Lama, Mampang Prapatan, Pancoran, Pasar Minggu, Pesanggrahan, and Tebet in South Jakarta; and Cakung, Kramat Jati, Matraman, Pasar Rebo, and Pulo Gadung sub-districts in East Jakarta.
From the data, Tebet, Menteng, Matraman, Pulo Gadung, and Cakung are other additional potential ground movement locations in Jakarta as compared to those recorded in December 2022.
The Jakarta BPBD said that in the Intermediate Zone, ground movement can occur if rainfall intensity is above normal, especially in areas bordering river valleys, road cliffs, and slopes. Meanwhile, for the High Zone, old ground movements can be active again.
