"We continue to encourage the birth of new entrepreneurs to accelerate economic recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic," the manpower minister's expert staff, Titik Mauntung, said in a written statement received here on Friday.
This encouragement is carried out, among other things, by socializing information on procedures and support for entrepreneurship, she added.
She made the remarks at the “Tips for Surviving in the Post-Pandemic World of Work” dialogue held by the Ministry of Manpower in Nganjuk, East Java, which was attended by hundreds of job seekers and new business actors.
The interactive dialogue included officials from the Nganjuk Manpower Service, employers, and motivators and focused on facing the challenges of post-pandemic employment development.
In addition, her party brought together 250 job seekers, small and medium entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs to discuss ways to face pandemic-related disruptions in employment, which have made the challenges to employment development increasingly complex.
"The participants who are new business owners need to improvise their information on business routes and access," Mauntung said.
She informed that her ministry has realized that manpower can be developed if all relevant stakeholders are actively involved, in accordance with their respective functions and authorities, in increasing collaboration and synergy for the purpose.
"I believe that with effective collaboration between the Ministry of Manpower and industry and other stakeholders, we can face the increasingly complex challenges of employment development and get through the difficult times of this pandemic," she remarked.
At the same event, the director of work introduction at the Manpower Ministry, Nora Kartika Setyaningrum, expressed the hope that the interactive dialogue would become a reference since it involved the regional Manpower Service, the Investment Service, and Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Apindo).
"We hope for a two-way dialogue to help us understand the current conditions. There are fundamental changes in our industry nowadays. For young job seekers, we hope they can understand how to become entrepreneurs of small and medium businesses," she said.
