Hence, the data on extreme poverty is expected to be truly accurate, he noted.
"Hence, now, each village has special data for people, who are extremely poor in that area," he remarked at the State Palace Complex, Jakarta on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Effendy reported to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the use of data in the Extreme Poverty Elimination Acceleration Program (PPKE).
He stated that data on extremely poor people will go through the verification stage using the triangulation method from the Social Welfare Integrated Data from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Annual Census data.

From the results of the triangulation, villages will be given the opportunity to verify and validate the extremely poor population. The data is thereafter sent to the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture through the head of each region.
Thus, data on extremely poor people will be managed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. Effendy said his ministry would also use the data to gain an understanding of the regional government's intervention to reduce the number of extremely poor people.
He later noted that the data validation process will be conducted on a daily basis to maintain the accuracy on extreme poverty data.
"The extreme poverty data is directly under the control of our ministry. Therefore, we can know each person's data by name, by address, and we can know how much intervention has been carried out by each region," he stated.
The Indonesian government is targeting the extreme poverty rate to reach zero percent in 2024. This target is six years ahead of the target of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030.
Referring to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Indonesia's extreme poverty rate in 2021 was recorded at four percent, with a total of 10.86 million extremely poor people.
