"We ensure this platform will become a kind of 'toll road' where there are many entry gates from various parties," Deputy Chief of the ministry's Digital Transformation Office (DTO), Agus Rachmanto, said at a “Healthy Broadcast” on Monday.
He added that the community, health workers, and the government will derive the same benefits from the platform.
Satu Sehat is part of the ministry's efforts to integrate patients' medical records onto a single health services platform. The platform symbolizes the sixth pillar of the health system transformation, namely the health technology transformation pillar.
Rachmanto said that the presence of the Satu Sehat platform would offer more concise and comfortable health services. "Before, many applications had to be accessed by health workers in the field. Now, all data can be inputted into the same platform with the same standards," he explained.
With the implementation of the same standards, it is expected that no data managed by the government will be misused by other parties. All the data will be neatly sorted; thus, people will not need to carry paper documentation.
The medical records data will be accessible to each individual while seeking treatment at other health facilities. Since the data will include a patient’s health history, it would be easier for doctors to provide more suitable recommendations.
Rachmanto said that because the platform will collect people's medical records, the ministry will cooperate with around 9 thousand health facilities and several vertical hospitals to develop it.
"Around November–December 2022, we carried out a 'roadshow' to hospitals in Java-Bali islands. We also invited and gathered health system developers," he said.
He informed that the Satu Sehat platform's development has been planned for a long time. However, developing the platform has been hard because of regulations still being discussed and inadequate technologies.
At the beginning of this year, the necessary legal and technological foundations were declared ready to serve the community. Thus, 2023 should be used to prepare a health service platform that is more massive and ready to protect the community from future pandemics, he said.
He also highlighted that medical records are private documents. Even though the ministry is cooperating with other parties, people must maintain confidentiality and not make transactions that could potentially cause data breaches, he added.
