Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will showcase the implementation of Industry 4.0 at the international trade fair Hannover Messe in Germany, which will take place from April 17–21, 2023, an Industry Ministry official, Eko S. Cahyanto, has said.

Indonesia's physical attendance as a Hannover Messe 2023 partner country is also an opportunity for nation branding, he said during a press briefing on the trade fair here on Wednesday.

Indonesia's involvement as the first ASEAN nation being a partner country at the trade fair for the third time is a strategic step for handling the challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0, he noted.

The event also presents a major opportunity to establish an Industry 4.0 partnership.

Indonesia must use the event to introduce the power of industrial technology and push its industry to connect with the global supply chain network.

"This will play an important role in strengthening the bilateral relationship and economic cooperation between Indonesia and Germany, not just in trade, investment, and industry, but also in the dimension of sustainable development," he informed.

This year, Indonesia will construct a booth measuring approximately three thousand square meters, which will showcase various activities.

The activities will showcase the capability of Indonesia's industrial technology and are expected to encourage cooperation and technology transfer, technology mastery benchmarking, as well as investment promotion.

"It is expected that from these activities we will gain networking development that will lead to business agreements," Cahyanto said.

Indonesia successfully participated as an official partner country at “Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition” after its participation was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the “Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition,” Indonesia showcased 156 industry actors from the country. At the event this year, more than 150 co-exhibitors will represent each sub-theme.

The sub-themes comprise engineered parts and solutions, future hub, sustainability and energy transition, global business and markets, compressed air and vacuum, digital ecosystems, drive technology and automation, as well as motion and drives.
