If it (a person’s name) has not been listed (on the KPU’s page), immediately register it at the local KPU.Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has appealed to Indonesians to confirm that they have been registered as voters for the 2024 General Elections (Pemilu) by checking their data on the General Election Commission’s (KPU’s) webpage.
"Mrs. Iriana (Iriana Joko Widodo) and I have been listed as voters in the 2024 Pemilu. I urge the public to check (whether) their names (have been registered) on the KPU's website (or not)," he said at Merdeka Palace here on Tuesday.
He made the statement when an officer from the voter registration committee (Pantarlih) came to verify his personal information and that of the First Lady.
The KPU had scheduled the personal data verification from February 12 to March 14, 2023.
Jokowi asked citizens to immediately register themselves at regional KPU offices if they do not find their names or identity card numbers (NIK) on the KPU’s website, cekdptonline.kpu.go.id.
"If it (a person’s name) has not been listed (on the KPU’s page), immediately register it at the local KPU," he said.
On the website, people can search for their names using their NIKs, or their passport numbers, if they are living overseas.
The search results will bring up the names of voters and the polling stations (TPS) they are listed at.
The President and First Lady are registered as voters at Gambir Village.
As per the mandate of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections, the Home Affairs Ministry has provided a list of potential 2024 Pemilu voters living within the country to the KPU.
