"We are very pleased to be able to collaborate because this collaboration will accelerate our goal to realize IKN Nusantara as a city for all," the authority head of IKN Nusantara, Bambang Susantono, noted in an official statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.
He remarked that the IKN authority and UNDP had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together in building a sustainable city in IKN Nusantara.
The MoU will serve as the basis for joint initiatives in various efforts to realize eight main principles of IKN development: building the city in accordance with nature; reflecting unity in diversity; building a connected, active, and accessible city; enabling low carbon emissions; being circular and resilient; promoting safety and accessibility; ensuring safety and efficiency through technology; and increasing economic opportunities for all, Susantono elaborated.
Based on the MoU signed by Susantono and UNDP Director for Asia Pacific Kanni Wignaraja, in the future, the two parties will encourage inclusive, just, productive, and sustainable development practices.
This collaboration will be realized, among others, through the contribution of insights related to inclusive development related to plans, programs, publications, joint training, conferences, and various other efforts for the development of a sustainable city in IKN Nusantara.

Susantono affirmed that this collaboration will also assist the Indonesian government to establish IKN Nusantara as a symbol of national identity towards realizing the Indonesia Vision 2045.
Earlier, the authority of IKN Nusantara and the Center for Livable Cities (CLC), an institution part of the Singapore Ministry of National Development, had collaborated to develop a livable city at IKN Nusantara.
Susantono said that his side works closely with CLC Singapore that has experience in sharing knowledge about the development of livable and sustainable cities in the world.
This strategic collaboration includes steps to strengthen collaborative knowledge sharing and capacity building by CLC to establish IKN Nusantara as a livable city.
The cooperation between the authority of IKN Nusantara and CLC is also marked as the first memorandum between the IKN Nusantara Authority and other state ministries (government to government or G-to-G), Susantono revealed.
