This becomes an affirmative policy for teachers and educational staff that fits the characteristics and conditions of the regions where they work.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs will disburse a special allowance to teachers at raudhatul athfal (Islamic kindergartens) and madrasah (Islamic schools) in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
Director of madrasah teachers and educational staff at the ministry's Islamic Education Directorate General, Muhammad Zain, said that a fund of Rp73 billion has been readied for the first phase of disbursement, which will cover 9,043 raudhatul athfal and madrasah teachers.
"We are targeting the disbursement to be able to be carried out in April 2023," he informed here on Wednesday.
Zain said that the special allowance is expected to reduce the gap between teachers who work in cities and those in remote areas.
He emphasized that the disbursement process will be carried out in a transparent and accountable manner in accordance with the mandate of the law. Ensuring the welfare of teachers wherever they work is mandated by law, he added.
The allowance is intended to help teachers enhance learning quality, improve students' achievements, as well as boost their competency, professionalism, performance, and welfare, he said.
The special allowance of Rp1.35 million per month is regulated in Technical Instruction Number 182 of 2023 on the provision of special allowance for raudhatul athfal and madrasah teachers for the 2023 fiscal year.
"This becomes an affirmative policy for teachers and educational staff that fits the characteristics and conditions of the regions where they work," he said.
Meanwhile, head of the madrasah teachers and educational staff administrative subdivision, Medan Pradita, asked teachers to pay more attention while filling in their data on the Religious Affairs Ministry's Simpatika platform.
Crucial data, such as full name, ID number, mother's name, and place and date of birth, will need to match with the ID card and family card.
"If it (the data) does not match with the verification of the Population and Civil Registration system, the creation of the beneficiary account number will be rejected," Pradita said.
