Hannover, Germany (ANTARA) - Indonesia aims to secure investment worth Rp30 trillion through its participation as the Official Partner Country at Hannover Messe 2023, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has stated.

According to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that had been officially agreed upon, there would be Rp30 trillion (around US$2 billion) in investment coming into Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto said.

"Certainly, we expect that through the Hannover Messe there will be more investment coming in, including in the manufacturing sector, especially renewable energy, as well as in industrial areas or special economic zones," Coordinating Minister Airlangga said in Hannover, Germany, on Sunday.

Furthermore, several technological innovations, including neonatal respiratory system medical devices, automotive components, and fertilizer maintenance instruments, will be exhibited at the Indonesian National Pavilion at Hannover Messe 2023, the Coordinating Minister stated.

He informed them that the pavilion would also showcase the infrastructure and utility integration innovation plan for the construction of Indonesia’s future capital (IKN), Nusantara.

"As it (the development of IKN) has a long project duration, it is hoped that we can demonstrate the concept as well as investment targets of (the construction of) IKN as The New Smart City in Indonesia," he noted.

He was in Hannover, Germany, along with Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, to review the readiness of the inauguration of the Indonesian National Pavilion at the Hannover Messe 2023.

The exhibition will be opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. local time.

Hartarto has noted that Indonesia's preparations as the official partner country for the Hannover Messe 2023, which will run on April 17–21, have been quite complete.

"With 157 co-exhibitors participating (at the Indonesian National Pavilion) in an area of nearly 3,000 square meters, it shows that Indonesia's participation is one of the biggest in the history of the Hannover Messe as an official country partner. Everything has been quite ready," he added.

A series of seminars, conferences, and business summits will be conducted in the pavilion, involving various business actors, industry players, investors, and economic associations.
