Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 8th World Vegan Organization (WVO) Conference and 2023 Vegan Festival in Jakarta and Bali in May 2023 aim to raise public awareness of the benefits of vegan living and seek participation in animal protection.

"This event aims to raise awareness of the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and inspire people to take action for the planet, for the protection of animals, and for their own health," founder and president of the World Vegan Organization Dr Susianto noted in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

The 8th WVO Conference and the 2023 Vegan Festival will be held along with the World Vegan Film (Asia) with the theme of "Go VEGAN, for a more Sustainable World."

The event will be held on May 12-14, 2023, in Jakarta and on May 15-16, 2023, in Bali, Indonesia.

Susianto said that the 8th WVO Conference & the 2023 Vegan Festival is a global event that aims to promote a vegan lifestyle for human health, animal protection, and the environment.

The event will bring together the vegan community, activists, academics, and professionals from across the world to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices to create a healthier and more sustainable world.

At the conference, various topics related to veganism will be discussed, including nutrition, health, animal protection, and the environment.

Moreover, at the conference, a festival will be held featuring an array of products, services, local and international vegan foods, as well as competitions, music performances, and entertainment.

"We are very pleased to be able to bring the 8th WVO Conference & Vegan Festival 2023 to Jakarta & Bali, Indonesia, with the theme 'Go VEGAN, for a more Sustainable World,'" Susianto remarked.

The World Vegan Film (Asia) co-hosted with the 8th WVO Conference will feature various inspiring and thought-provoking films that promote veganism and animal protection and explore facts about meat, dairy, and egg industries.

The film festival will also include a question and answer session with filmmakers and experts in their fields.

"We are very pleased to partner with the Indonesian Vegetarian Society (IVS) and Vegan Society Indonesia (VSI) for the 8th WVO Conference & Vegan Festival 2023," Susianto stated.

He believes that the conference will provide a unique platform for vegans, activists, and entrepreneurs to collaborate and create a more sustainable and compassionate world.
