"First, the highly competitive Balinese society will face global competition," Monoarfa noted in a seminar titled, "The Direction of Bali Development of the Future, 100 Years of Bali, New Era of 2025-2125," as quoted from his Instagram account @suharsomonoarfa, here on Saturday.
The second prediction made by Monoarfa is that the community will have high income per capita and productivity.
The third projection is that Bali will fully utilize new and renewable energy to achieve net zero emissions, while as per the fourth forecast, Bali will protect its nature by implementing sustainable production and consumption based on technology.
According to Monoarfa, the fifth projection is the realization of an even distribution of connectivity infrastructure to improve Bali's connectedness, thereby contributing further to the global value chain.
"Finally, the implementation of good governance in various government affairs," he revealed.
Monoarfa also predicted that Bali will experience a demographic bonus until 2034. The demographic bonus can be extended by maintaining high productivity through the Kerthi Economic Transformation roadmap.
"Bali's Kerthi economic (transformation) is the initial stage of Bali's new era in 100 years. Bali's roadmap for economic recovery and transformation was launched by President Joko Widodo on December 3, 2021," he stated.
The minister said that Bali's economic transformation roadmap is also part of redesigning of Indonesia's economic transformation.
Bali's economic transformation contains six agendas, comprising smart and healthy Bali, productive Bali, green Bali, integrated Bali, Bali as a smart island, and conducive Bali.
"I hope, in the next 100 years, the island of Bali has the competitiveness equivalent to developed countries," Monoarfa stated.
The roadmap outlines short-term economic recovery strategies and medium- to long-term action plans for Bali's economic transformation.
It reimagines Bali's economy post-pandemic by prioritizing the use of Bali's local natural, cultural, and human resources in a sustainable manner.
