Amin conveyed this at the 2045 Golden Indonesia event, the closing of the 2023 National Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangnas), and the launch of the 2020-2050 Population Projection at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Tuesday.
"The 2020-2050 Population Projection document should become a reference for ministries/agencies and local governments to develop programs that can optimize the demographic bonus potential," he remarked.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the sustainability of the national development agenda, especially the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara, to realize equal social welfare throughout the country.
Moreover, the vice president reminded that the demographic bonus is a challenge that should be handled optimally and an opportunity that should be utilized. According to Amin, several countries have succeeded in making the most of the demographic bonus and increasing their gross domestic product (GDP) per capita by up to three folds.
"For Indonesia, this is a golden opportunity. We must be able to optimize the existing demographic bonuses to spur our GDP per capita. We want Indonesia to be able to enter the upper middle income country category in 2025," he affirmed.
Hence, the vice president encourages the 2020-2050 Population Projection document to become a reference for all ministries and institutions in preparing future programs.
Vice President Amin then urged all heads of ministries and agencies and regional heads to make the 2024 development work plans (RKP) as a comprehensive guide in implementing development programs and to encourage the preparation of provincial and district and city Regional Development Work Plans (RKPD) to prioritize development goals and targets in the RKP.
Furthermore, he pressed for the readiness to implement major and national strategic projects according to plan and to be accountable.
The vice president reminded that the money spent on development should always have a concrete impact, and the progress should be felt by the community.
In addition, he requested for targets, goals, and strategies for sustainable development to be formulated, as the 2020-2024 National Mid Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and 2005-2025 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) will soon be ending and will be the key to sustainability as well as provisions for the next government.
Lastly, Vice President Amin specifically called on the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) to oversee the preparation of the 2024 RKP as well as medium- and long-term development plans, mainly to ensure the realization of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
Meanwhile, Minister for National Development Planning and Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, in his report, stated that the 2020-2050 Indonesian Population Projection is being carried out along with Statistics Indonesia (BPS).
Contents of the 2020-2050 Population Projection document include projection for Indonesia's population during those years as well as describing millennials and generation Z, who will later become members of the elderly group, who should be able to carry out several things, such as availing pension insurance and health preparations.
