Penajam, East Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Agrarian Spatial Planning Ministry/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) will issue a new circular on land transactions in the new capital city IKN Nusantara located in North Penajam Paser District and Kutai Kartanegara District, East Kalimantan.

"There are indications that the land sale and purchase transactions are still being conducted after IKN Nusantara has been established," Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN Raja Juli Antoni noted in a written press statement received in Penajam, Monday.

The ministry will issue a new circular that emphasizes any land sale and purchase transactions in the area of IKN Nusantara will not be recognized as the basis for the rights to the land in question.

"The president asked for no further sale and purchase transactions related to land in the IKN Nusantara area," he affirmed.

The new circular, he explained, is intended to prevent 'underhand' land buying and selling transactions, so as to prevent speculators that can cause land prices to spiral out of control.

The ministry had earlier issued a circular stating that there were no land transfer transactions in the new capital city area to prevent unpredictable land price speculators.

The circular regulates restrictions on the issuance and transfer of land rights as well as restrictions on the implementation of land services or administration in the area.

"The circular letter was issued on February 14, 2022, but land buying and selling activities are still being found in the IKN Nusantara area," he pointed out.

He said land in the new IKN Indonesia area cannot be traded while emphasizing that the ATR/BPN does not recognize the transactions as the basis for the rights to the land.

The land for the location of the new IKN Indonesia area is divided into the central government area (KIPP), government areas, and supporting areas, with some 90 percent of KIPP being forest area owned and controlled by the state.
