Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry, through Task Force for Infrastructure Construction for State Capital City (IKN), targets construction of 47 residential towers for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to start in July 2023.

"This is currently in the tender process, and we hope to start (construction) around July 2023 if the process goes smoothly," Head of the Task Force for the Construction of Infrastructure of IKN Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga stated when met in Jakarta, Friday.

Sumadilaga explained that the State Budget (APBN) scheme was being used for some of the construction of ASN housing at IKN, while the Government Cooperation with Business Entities (KPBU) scheme was being applied for building others.

"As for ASN housing with a KPBU scheme, it is being processed at the IKN Authority (OIKN). Meanwhile, for the PUPR Ministry, it is more about the execution of IKN infrastructure development using APBN funds," he remarked.

Some 47 towers, valued at about Rp9.4 trillion, have been constructed for ASN housing at IKN.

On the same occasion, Sumadilaga also remarked that the concept of transit-oriented development (TOD) has been included in the IKN city design.

"The principle is that in IKN, there are transportation modes, vehicles, and railroad. At one point, there is a TOD mode, so we can switch. We can incorporate this into the city or urban design," he stated.

Task Force for the Construction of Infrastructure of IKN is currently focusing on building basic infrastructure, such as the state palace, ministerial offices, clean water infrastructure, and roads, until next year.

Nevertheless, the TOD concept will certainly be applied as the development of IKN Nusantara continues until 2045.

The Ministry of PUPR expressed its keenness to accelerate the construction of flats for government employees at the IKN Nusantara core area in Sepaku Sub-district, North Penajam Paser District, East Kalimantan.

The residential flats are adjusted to the level of the ASN, so the higher the position of the ASN, the more wider will be the residential flats, and the smallest area of the ASN residential flat unit will be around 98 square meters. Flats for ASN housing are in the same class as apartments with 47 towers, and each tower has an average of 12 floors built.

He noted that the construction of residential flats for government employees is in accordance with the city's concept of managing and maintaining forest ecosystems, so as to prevent excessive forest clearance to build the flats.

Apart from the 31 towers for ASN residences, there are nine towers for the Presidential Security Guard (Paspampres), four towers for TNI/Polri, and three towers for the State Intelligence Agency or BIN.
