Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno on Thursday provided digital marketing training to youth, including students and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"The goal of this activity is to provide youth entrepreneurship and digital marketing skills in opening and creating jobs," Uno said during an event held at Muhammadiyah University (UM) in Surabaya, East Java.

He also motivated participants to open business opportunities for entrepreneurship.

According to Uno, the youth entrepreneurship skills training is expected to help build a stronger economy through the creation of new jobs and encourage students to become digitally skilled to improve modern communication.

He said that digital technology has an extraordinary impact in the world.

"The use of digital technology has been able to change the world and form a communication pattern without a geographic border. Thus, for business practices, digital technology can expedite business processes," he added.

During the occasion, the minister also directly provided scholarship assistance to eight winners of the Sandination entrepreneurship scholarship.

The scholarship was given to youngsters to answer challenges. MSMEs require digitalization and youngsters have the urge to create and innovate, he stressed.

"This scholarship helps youngsters not only with learning activities on campus, but with the Kampus Merdeka concept, youngsters can create content and help MSME sales," he explained.

Kampus Merdeka is a new initiative from the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology that aims to give students more freedom and flexibility in their studies.

"Therefore, not only will they receive knowledge, but they will also improve the economy and create jobs," he added.

Moreover, through Superkey Consulting Group (SCG) Sandination, his group has established cooperation in education, which includes a training scholarship program, teaching program, leadership, career, and business program, internship program, and work distribution with UM Surabaya.
