"The UK is one of the pioneers in implementing enterprise architecture, an integrated digital service. It is also among the best countries in the e-Government Development Index worldwide," Anas said in a statement released here on Friday.
The minister informed that his visit to the UK GDS is a valuable opportunity for gaining knowledge and experiences for bolstering the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) in Indonesia.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has directed that SPBE implementation be prioritized to improve efficiency, transparency, integration, and better quality of public services, he said.
Therefore, the ministry, as one of the coordinators for SPBE implementation, has continued to strengthen the integration of digital services for the public.
"The Indonesian government is initiating an integrated digital service work scheme, which is no longer a separated (scheme) that causes complexity for users," he added.
He said that at the UK GDS, he expects to learn about the best practices, implementation strategies, and challenges faced by the GDS in implementing the e-government system.
"We believe that collaboration between countries in the field of digital government will provide great benefits for both parties," he added.
GDS is serving as a provider of platforms, products, and services for helping the UK government become more connected, trusted, and responsive to user needs.
In addition to GDS, Anas also visited the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO), which focuses on strategies for realizing large-scale transformation by eliminating the duplication of applications and establishing an integrated digital service.
"Digital service transformation efforts in Indonesia are (currently) on. According to President Jokowi's directive, the most important focus is how to integrate the services, which is contained in the SPBE architecture that has been signed and mandated by the President," he informed.
