He made this statement during the 20th Asia Security Summit of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Saturday.
Subianto emphasized the importance of handling geopolitical competition and territory disputes through dialogue, negotiation, and mutually beneficial solutions.
He highlighted that the tradition of compromise, often observed in Asia, can be applied more broadly to ensure global prosperity in the future, as history has taught us that compromise and coexistence are the only paths to prosperity.
During the summit, Subianto addressed tensions in several regions of the world, expressing optimism that all participants are willing to work together to resolve these problems.
He also expressed pride in the loyalty of the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI) to its people, particularly in light of the situation in Myanmar, where the military regime does not support its own people.
ASEAN has made it clear that they do not accept the authoritarian actions and harmful activities of the military regime.
Subianto highlighted that Indonesians have faced difficult situations in the past, but active soldiers have withdrawn from politics to maintain neutrality.
