"This is what is most needed. I think we will work on the Gedebage to Ciamis sections first," Hadimuljono said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Hadimuljono added that the Ministry of PUPR will continue the Getaci Toll Road project, including planning a re-tender. However, because the length of the toll road is too long, it will be limited to Ciamis first.
The length of the Getaci toll road from Gedebage to Ciamis is about 108 kilometers.
Regarding the re-tendering of the Getaci Toll Road project, Hadimuljono said that the tender will be carried out now, because it took into account the difficult and challenging terrain of the Getaci Toll Road project.
Previously, the Getaci Toll Road was to cross two provinces, including West Java with a length of 171.40 kilometers and Central Java with a length of 35.25 kilometers, reaching a total length of 206.65 kilometers, which make this toll road the longest toll road segment in Indonesia.
The toll road is one of the National Strategic Projects, as stated in Presidential Regulation Number 109 Year 2020, regarding the Acceleration of Implementation of National Strategic Projects.
The construction of the Getaci Toll Road aims to assist connectivity and improve the community's economy, especially in the south of West Java.
The Getaci Toll Road consists of four sections, which are Section 1 Junction Gedebage - North Garut (45.20 km), Section 2 North Garut - Tasikmalaya (50.32 km), Section 3 Tasikmalaya - Patimuan (76.78 km), and Section 4 Patimuan – Cilacap (34.35 km).
