Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Home Affairs Ministry's Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN), Yusharto Huntoyungo, on Monday submitted a recapitulation of research topics suggested by regional governments to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

The submission was a part of BSKDN's efforts to ensure that the policies that the government makes can be improved, he said in a press statement released on Monday.

"The study topic suggestions are gathered from regional governments at the level of province, district, and city. Through the effort, policies that the government decides are expected to improve since it is based on data and facts on the field," he explained.

Several of the study topics are issues that regions encounter such as poverty, stunting, mining, plantation, education, health, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The study topics also cover human resources, fisheries, alternative fuels, food security, public services, disaster management, transportation, tourism, agriculture, waste management, telecommunications, infrastructure, unemployment, livestock, and culture.

He delivered the statement while attending the "Policy Study Suggestion Submission and Basic Data Survey Dissemination in Research and Innovation Communication Forum (FKRI) Website Application in 2023" here.

During the occasion, he listed his expectation from BRIN so that the agency is willing to provide support, such as budget and human resources to BSKDN, thereby, allowing the study topic suggestions to be implemented immediately.

The human resource support is necessary because all BSKDN researchers have transferred to BRIN, in accordance with the Presidential Regulation No. 78 of 2021 on BRIN.

The regulation states that state civil apparatuses (ASNs) who have become researchers at ministries/researchers should transfer and become ASNs at BRIN.

While the agency currently does not have researchers, Huntoyungo underlined that BSKDN is ready to collaborate with BRIN and regional governments to assist in the implementation of studies in accordance with the topics that have been gathered.

It was also said that the agency is ready to provide information that researchers need.

In the future, he said he expects that BSKDN's collaboration with BRIN and regional governments to support central and regional governments.
