Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has said he is expecting regional heads in Indonesia to stop making new applications.

This would align with the instructions of President Joko Widodo who has said that the government is pushing for an electronic-based government system (SPBE). SPBE is not about having many applications, rather it is about providing integrated digital services, he stressed.

Regional heads should avoid the "one innovation, one application" approach. This is so that people do not need to download several applications and create many accounts, he explained while inaugurating 14 public service malls here on Thursday.

If this condition persists, then there will be hundreds of applications in regions, which may make it difficult for people to access public services, he said.

Moreover, what is equally important for regional heads to consider is human resources. Quality human resources are important for developing great regions, Anas said.

"Because of this, please frequently meet with heads of BKD (Regional Employee Agency). This is because team is the king," he added.

"You cannot involve all ASNs (state civil apparatuses) to make your district great, but you need a small great team and this involves the correct selection of human resources," he explained.

At the inauguration, he also highlighted four integrated service ecosystems, with the first being direct services.

Then there are mobile services, which include providing services using transportation. Then, there are self-service and electronic services, namely interactive services through the Digital Public Service Mall.

"These are the four models that have grown and developed," he said.

During the event, Anas as well as 14 district/city regional chiefs opened 14 public service malls scattered across various parts of Indonesia.

The malls have been set up to improve public services and encourage investment growth.
