"This is a moment that serves as a reminder of our collective duties regarding the fulfillment of children rights and protection," she remarked in her speech delivered at the celebration of this year's National Children's Day in Semarang City, Central Java, on Sunday.
The minister said the day is not merely a celebratory event, but it is also a reminder of the fact that everyone is demanded to fight for the rights and protection of Indonesian children.
By doing so, Indonesia can grow and become an advanced and prosperous nation, she said, adding that the ministry had conducted various activities prior to the peak of the 2023 National Children Day, including social activities, competitions, webinars, and awarding for livable districts/cities for children.
Puspayoga noted that Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's presence at the event encouraged attendants to care for all Indonesian children by providing them with protection and safe and comfortable environment.
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin called on officials at central and regional governments to listen to and consider suggestions and inputs the children echoed at the event.
"I have listened to your (suggestions). Hence, I will instruct all officials of central and regional governments to listen to and carry out what you all have expressed," he said.
He also said that National Children's Day is a reminder of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling children's rights.
"The National Children's Day has an important meaning, as it serves as a form of respect, protection, and rights fulfillment for children as our (future) generation," the vice president remarked.
The theme of 2023 National Children's Day is 'Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia', with tagline of #BeraniKarenaPeduli (Courageous because caring).
