"As of July 2023, praise be God, we have completed the construction of 87 PSNs, which accounts for 70 percent of the overall target," stated PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono during the Conference on National Strategic Projects event in Jakarta.
Out of the 87 completed projects, there are 36 dams, two irrigation projects, 27 toll roads, four roads, three drinking water supply systems, seven housing projects, seven cross-border guard posts (PLBNs), and one educational infrastructure.
By the end of this year, the ministry aims to complete the construction of 24 more PSNs: 15 dams, five toll roads, two housing projects, one irrigation project, and one industrial zone development project.
The five toll road projects targeted for completion this year are the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road, Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road, Pasuruan-Probolinggo Toll Road, Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road, and Cinere-Jagorawi Toll Road.
Regarding the dam projects, the ministry plans to complete 15 dams in various regions, including Keureuto and Rukoh dams in Aceh, Lausimeme Dam in North Sumatra, Margatiga Dam in Lampung, Karian Dam in Banten, and Cipanas and Leuwikeris Dams in West Java.
The ministry is also focused on completing the Lempuing Irrigation Area project in South Sumatra this year.
Hadimuljono emphasized that two aspects are crucial in building effective public infrastructure. The first aspect involves ensuring that the infrastructures being built are genuinely needed by the people, while the second aspect pertains to formulating effective strategies and ensuring successful implementation.
"The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs relies on these infrastructures as the foundation for designing economic growth in Indonesia. Therefore, infrastructures are essential in translating the design into reality," he noted.
