Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas supports efforts to expedite bureaucratic reform with the Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs, and Fiscal Policy Agency in the Ministry of Finance.

"Of course, we all see the commitment and hard work of the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to continue carrying out bureaucratic reform. We, at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, fully support it. So, bureaucratic reform, especially in the Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs, and the Policy Agency Fiscal, can be more optimal in the future," Anas noted in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

Anas conveyed this statement while receiving an audience from Head of the Tax Supervisory Committee of the Ministry of Finance Amien Sunaryadi at the office of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB), Jakarta, Friday.

Anas said that Sunaryadi's arrival was aimed at discussing the implementation of several aspects of strengthening governance in the management of taxation, customs, and fiscal policy.

"Mr Amien Sunaryadi explained various schemes that I believe will further strengthen governance within the Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs, and the Fiscal Policy Agency," he explained.

Moreover, he noted that Kemenpan RB has an integrity zone development program towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serve Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) that has become a guide in assessing various work units in ministries, agencies, and local governments so far.

"I think the existence of the Tax Supervisory Committee is strategic enough to support the efforts of the minister of finance to continue carrying out bureaucratic reforms at the Ministry of Finance, especially in the Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs, and the Fiscal Policy Agency, in terms of supervising tax policy and administration," he remarked.

On this occasion, Sunaryadi called on Kemenpan RB to work together to support plans to implement ISO 37001 on the Anti-Bribery Management System within the Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs, and the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Ministry of Finance.

Anas also welcomed this to collaborate with various aspects in implementing the integrity zone towards WBK and WBBM.

He affirmed that preventing various practices that are inconsistent with good governance is part of the government's endeavors to realize clean and serving bureaucracy.

"The end of bureaucratic reform is an impactful work and satisfying public services. Together, we encourage all government agencies to implement it," Anas remarked.

The Integrity Zone is a strategy to accelerate bureaucratic reform carried out by work units in government agencies.

Implementation of the Integrity Zone focuses on community satisfaction, so that the assessment process not only pays attention to the internal and national assessment teams but also focuses on the results of the online survey involving relevant stakeholders and the community.
