The program was outlined in a policy brief prepared by participants of Level I National Leadership Training (PKN), Batch 62, regarding "Accelerating the Digital Economy through Increasing Women's Digital Literacy and Skills." They delivered the brief to the minister during a meeting at his ministry's office in Jakarta.
"In my opinion, there are several things we need to follow up on, such as digital protection, not only for women, but also children. For example, from this digitalization, we have to protect games. That's why one of our thoughts is how to make a game rating because, in the digital economy, games are the most massive, we must protect e-commerce and e-learning for women and children," Setiadi said in a statement released on Friday.
He further said he believes that the support is in accordance with the ideas raised during the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) discussion on increasing the digital skills of vulnerable groups.
Two recommendations were made by the participants of PKN Level I LAN Batch 62: first, create the Digital Indonesia Road Map 2025–2030, in collaboration with related ministries and institutions under the guidance of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.
Second, encourage related sectoral ministries and institutions to support the realization of digital-based women entrepreneurs using their respective sector program resources.
Setiadi said that digital literacy for women needs to be directed at encouraging activities that support productivity and skills to prevent the misuse of digital platforms or online-based fraud.
"The key word in all of this is that digitalization must make us more productive, especially women's literacy is more important. Digital security is also an important issue because we are dealing with the rise of illegal lending and online gambling, especially illegal lending because many people are victims and on average, many of the victims are women," he added.
At the meeting, the minister met with 35 participants of Level I PKN Batch 62 of 2023, which was led by the deputy for competency development implementation, Basseng, and the deputy for ASN management studies and innovation, Agus Sudrajat.
