In the presence of defense ministers of countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Subianto reiterated that Indonesia strongly advocates an immediate end to the acts of violence occurring in Gaza and a safe and uninterrupted corridor for the distribution of humanitarian aid.
"This stance is driven by our moral obligation. We would like to call on all countries to take a similar stance for the sake of relieving the ordeal of the Palestinian people who have been displaced from their homes for a long time," he remarked.
Subianto then stressed that several crises, currently occurring in the world, should remind the ASEAN of the importance of maintaining unity and vigilance.
The minister also expressed optimism that the 17th ADMM would serve as a constructive meeting that would result in concrete solutions to problems and challenges in the Southeast Asian region.
"I would like to ask all delegations to take part in constructive discussions, explore innovative solutions, and remap concrete steps for overcoming security challenges in our regions. I believe our mutual commitment and understanding can result in a more prosperous, resilient, and safer ASEAN," he stated.

After chairing the 17th ADMM on Wednesday, Minister Subianto will lead the 10th ADMM Plus on Thursday (November 16) in Jakarta.
At the 17th ADMM, Subianto and his counterparts from other ASEAN countries discuss the region's security challenges and explore cooperation opportunities.
Several officials from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied Minister Subianto during the 17th ADMM.
