He arrived in San Francisco after a five-hour journey from Washington, D.C., according to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat issued on Wednesday.
Jokowi was welcomed at the airport by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Washington, Sade Bimantara, and Defense Attaché of the embassy, Tjahya Elang Migdiawan.
The Assistant Head of Protocol for Diplomatic Affairs at the US Department of State, Nan Kenelly, also welcomed Jokowi's arrival in San Francisco.
Jokowi and his entourage proceeded to their hotel and begin their work agenda on Wednesday.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Jokowi was greeted by Indonesian Consul General in San Francisco, Prasetyo Hadi; Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi; Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani; and Head of the National Capital Authority (IKN), Bambang Susantono.
In San Francisco, Jokowi is scheduled to attend the APEC Summit and hold several bilateral meetings with leaders of APEC member countries from November 15-17. He will also give a public lecture at Stanford University.
Indonesia will raise two key issues at the APEC Summit: sustainable development and inclusive development.
