Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The West Java provincial government has prepared six health facilities, namely the nearest hospitals and local health centers, to treat the Turangga-Bandung Raya Train collision victims.

"We have prepared six hospitals and health facilities, namely the Cicalengka Hospital, the Cicalengka Health Center, the Rancaekek Health Center, and the AMC Hospital," West Java Acting Governor Bey Triadi Machmudin stated at the accident site in Cicalengka on Friday.

He remarked that the Harapan Keluarga Hospital and Kesehatan Kerja Hospital are also ready to treat the injured victims.

According to Machmudin, the evacuation process for the train accident involved teams from the state railway company PT KAI, the Red Cross (PMI), the fire and rescue office, and the Indonesian Military/National Police (TNI/Polri).

The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) also deployed their personnel to facilitate the evacuation process.

"Currently, the evacuation of victims and the train is being carried out," he remarked.

Machmudin stated that his side has not obtained the latest update on the cause of the accident, and the KNKT is still investigating it.

"We are waiting for the (information on the) accident cause from KNKT," he noted.

It was reported that the Turangga Train operating on the Surabaya-Bandung route collided with the Bandung Raya Commuter Line Train on the Padalarang-Cicalengka route near the signaling block between Haurpugur Station and Cicalengka Station, on Friday, at around 6 a.m. local time.

PT KAI stated that the machinist, assistant machinist, the train attendant, and a security officer in the Turangga Train had died in the accident.

Some 22 passengers suffered minor injuries and were moved to the nearest three hospitals for treatment. Some 18 passengers are being treated at the Cicalengka Hospital, two at the Edelweis Hospital, and two at the AMC Hospital.
