"The agenda will be in the context of a state visit to fulfill the invitation of the Sultan of Brunei and reciprocate his earlier visit to Indonesia," coordinator of the Presidential Special Staff Ari Dwipayana remarked at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
According to Dwipayana, the president's scheduled visit to Brunei Darussalam is aimed at further solidifying the well-fostered friendly relations and cooperation between Indonesia and the sultanate.
President Jokowi might participate in the wedding ceremony of Prince Mateen during his working visit to Brunei Darussalam, he remarked.
The wedding ceremony of Prince Mateen and his fiancé, Anisha Isa Kalebic, will reportedly be held over a period of 10 days from January 7 to January 16, 2024.

Prince Mateen is the 10th son of Sultan Bolkiah and sixth in the succession line to the throne of the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam.
The prince is relatively popular among international communities, as he has been frequently seen accompanying his father during state visits as well as international forums.
Earlier, on Monday (January 8), Dwipayana stated that President Jokowi is scheduled to visit three Southeast Asian countries, namely the Philippines, Vietnam, and Brunei Darussalam, during the January 9-14 period.
Dwipayana explained that the president's agendas in the countries are meant as return visits, given that Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had visited Indonesia in September last year.
Sultan Bolkiah's most recent visit to Indonesia was during his participation in the 43rd Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Jakarta in September 2023.
