"The program's purpose is to reduce the occurrence of work accidents and (the spread of) diseases in the work environment as well as maintain and encourage business productivity," the ministry's Director General of Labor Supervision and K3 Development, Haiyani Rumondang, noted in a statement here on Friday.
Rumondang remarked that the K3 expert competency improvement program was held, as K3 experts have an important and strategic role to play in workplaces.

Rumondang explained that the program of boosting the competence of K3 experts is crucial to strengthen communication and education as well as support the ministry's strategic plan.
She expressed hope that the activity would formulate and update regulations in the field of labor and produce innovation in K3 coaching and supervision as well as services, which will lead to an increase in efficiency and productivity.
"We laud K3 experts who have carried out their duties well, who oversee the fulfillment of K3 requirements at workplaces, produced innovations, and are looking for new breakthroughs," he affirmed.
