Based on the Bandung SAR team's report, as of Thursday, seven of the 10 landslide victims in Cibenda village, Cipongkor, had been found and identified, while the search for three remaining victims continued.
"We will keep trying to find the victims. We have gone through the stages of data analysis and mapping, which is expected to support the success of the search operation," Kusworo said.
He described the accurate mapping and data analysis carried out by the joint SAR team as an important and helpful resource.
According to him, the mapping helped the team find most of the victims. However, the team could not use heavy equipment to dig through the landslide.
"We must take advantage of the field conditions for the search," he said.
He said that during the remaining days of the search operation, the joint team will deploy personnel at three search locations where the victims are believed to be.
The team will also deploy K9 police dogs from the Cimahi District Police and the West Java Regional Police to search the three locations.
Once a victim's location is detected, the joint team, involving Basarnas, the police, and the military, will carry out manual digging using a pumping machine and hoes.
"Apart from that, we pay attention to safety before conducting the search. We must ensure the terrain conditions are safe to reach," Kusworo said.
