"The arrival of domestic tourists currently reaches 25 thousand people per day by air alone, excluding land, this increased from the 14 thousand people on normal days," PHRI Bali Vice Chairman I Gusti Agung Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya stated here on Thursday.
He pointed out that domestic tourists' spending in Bali in 2024 increased in the range of 5-10 percent as compared to last year during which each tourist spent Rp1.3 million per day.
The expenses included accommodation, food and beverage, souvenirs, and transportation during the holidays.
The increase in tourists' expenditure was also followed by an increase in hotel room occupancy, especially in southern Bali.
He projected the hotel occupancy in Bali during the Eid holiday to increase to 85 percent, from the normal occupancy rate of 65 percent.

He remarked that the increase in domestic tourist arrivals in Bali was supported by the national economic growth that reached 5.05 percent in 2023.
Meanwhile, Bali's economic growth also reached 5.5 percent last year.
A Bank Indonesia (BI) survey found that the national consumer confidence index continued to strengthen to reach 123.1 in February 2024.
The index improvement was supported by the optimism of all its components that grew above 100 points each, namely income at 116.5; employment availability, 110.1; and purchases of durable goods, 110.6.
Meanwhile, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) earlier conducted a survey on domestic tourists' spending in 2022 in which it found that the average tourist expenditure reached Rp2.43 million per trip last year.
