"This family planning program is still very relevant to workers," Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said during the 2024 Labor Day commemoration event in Jakarta on Wednesday.
She explained that providing family planning services is one of the ways to support the welfare of workers, as mandated in Article 100 of Law Number 13 of 2003 on Employment.
To this end, the ministry is collaborating with the BKKBN to provide family planning services simultaneously at workplaces in 34 provinces to commemorate International Workers' Day and the 31st National Family Day.
The program will be officially launched in Kudus District, Central Java, on May 15.
A dialogue and education event will also be held at several locations to disseminate information on workers' health facilities, stunting, and workers' reproductive health.
Fauziyah emphasized that the event, which includes dialogue and education sessions on workers' health facilities, stunting, and reproductive health, is part of the series of 2024 Labor Day commemorations.
