Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - State airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), as manager of Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, ensured readiness to facilitate and serve Hajj flights this year.

"With careful preparation and high standards in facilities and services, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and orderly environment for Hajj pilgrims," Soetta Airport's Communication & Legal Senior Manager, M. Holik Muardi, remarked here on Thursday.

According to Muardi, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has set high standards in preparing facilities and services for the 2024 Hajj season to make it easier for pilgrims to fly to Mecca.

The departure period for Hajj pilgrims is scheduled on May 12-June 10, 2024, and their return on June 22-July 22, 2024.

His side has prepared 12 fast-track immigration counters for Hajj pilgrims at Terminal 2D, where pilgrims can register and verify their documents quicker, thereby reducing the long check-in times.

"We recognize the importance of this journey, and we are determined to make their experience at this airport an unforgettable part of their spiritual journey to the Holy Land," Muardi emphasized.

He highlighted the addition of various other facilities, such as more chairs in the waiting room, places of worship, and portable toilets.

In serving this year's Hajj implementation, Muardi said his side will deploy a total of 3,296 personnel to realize the smooth operation of the departure and return of Hajj pilgrims.

"We have coordinated with the Religious Affairs Ministry and the representatives of the Saudi Arabian government and other relevant agencies in preparing Hajj transportation facilities," he stated.
