At an online press conference on Monday, the chief of Polri's Operations Division, Police Brigadier General Auliansyah Lubis, informed reporters that the layered security will be carried out by dividing the security forces into five clusters: Sanur, Kuta, Jimbaran, South Nusa Dua, and North Nusa Dua.
"We created these clusters to make it easier to check and control so that public security and order are maintained," he said.
Lubis added that the clusters are based on the event locations, which range from the forum venues to the accommodations of delegates.
Later, each cluster will be led by one officer, who will be responsible for leading security officers in their zone, he added.
He said that at least 858 police officers will guard the Sanur cluster.
The personnel will be divided across the venues for the event and planned activities, ranging from field trip locations to tourist areas that the delegates will visit.
Overall, Polri will deploy 5,791 personnel from May 17–26.
Of the total, as many as 2,485 personnel will be from Polri, or the central level, and 2,706 personnel will be from the Bali Regional Police.
Meanwhile, 600 officers will be kept on standby to secure the borders of Bali Island.
To strengthen security, as many as 22 officers with dogs will be deployed to assist in anti-terror security measures, with 10 personnel drawn from the central level and 12 from the Bali Police.
