Executive GM of commercial at the airport, Herry Sikado, said on Saturday that the service adds to the facilities offered by the airport and seeks to provide more transportation options to passengers, based on their preferences.
"We are trying to increase service facilities and offer various intermodal transportation modes," he added.
According to Sikado, the T-Shuttle service is the result of a collaboration between the airport management and PT Trans Aviasi Sinergi.
Passengers can board the T-Shuttle from the Whoosh Station in Halim to go to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and vice versa.
"We saw a demand for connectivity from the Whoosh train to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport," he said.
In the future, his party is also planning to collaborate with the MRT and LRT to increase connectivity with the airport.
Meanwhile, the president director of PT Trans Aviasi Sinergi, Novri Handri, said the shuttle bus started operating on Saturday.
According to the director of finance and business development at PT Trans Aviasi Sinergi, Yudhaprana Sugarda, there is potential for passengers from Bandung to choose Halim as their departure airport.
Besides its strategic location at the city center, the airport serves flights to many areas such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, East Java, and Bali, Sugarda highlighted.
He said he is optimistic that the T-Shuttle can cut travel time and become a comfortable mode of transportation for passengers traveling from Whoosh Station to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
"We are the only shuttle provider from Whoosh Station at Halim to Halim Airport and vice versa," he added.
The T-Shuttle service will operate two fleets daily from 6 a.m. local time to 9 p.m. local time, with buses departing every 30 minutes.
