Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Olympic Committee (NOC) and the French Embassy held an Olympic Day celebration in Jakarta on Saturday that doubled as a promotional event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The activities, "Guarding the Red and White," included a 5K run for adults and a 3K run for teenagers.

"This is a good partnership between the NOC and the French Embassy in Indonesia," NOC Indonesia Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari told reporters.

The Mini Olympic Games included athletics (60-meter sprint and 4x60-meter relay) and archery (standard bow and recurve bow). Competitions were also held for 3-on-3 basketball, 5-on-5 football, and T1 rugby.

The event committee also presented a demonstration event, along with cornhole, parkour, and robotics showcases.

Speaking on Indonesia's preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Oktohari explained that the national team has reached the final stage.

Some athletes have qualified for the Olympics, while others await qualification results.

"We are focused on ensuring athletes who have qualified are ready for acclimatization (adjustment) in Paris. Some have already departed," he said.

Oktohari earlier reiterated NOC Indonesia's commitment to assisting qualified athletes in overcoming challenges and performing optimally at the Paris Olympics.

"Our top priority is to ensure optimal performance from our qualified athletes," Oktohari concluded.
