Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA) - Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono revealed that his ministry needs additional budget to realize the target of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program of registering 120 million land plots.

Yudhoyono stated at the Central Java Governor's office here on Friday that he had proposed an additional budget to the Ministry of Finance.

He remarked that Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and the Ministry of Finance understood the need and were willing to support it.

However, Yudhoyono believes that several processes must be completed for the additional budget.

"We hope that the additional budget could significantly help us to meet the targets of PTSL," he remarked.

Some 114.8 million land plots are recorded to have been registered under the PTSL program.

This land registration has resulted in the economic value added from income tax (PPh), the land and building rights acquisition tax (BPHTB), non-tax state revenue (PNBP), and mortgage lien value.

In 2023, the economic value added from land registration activities reached more than Rp100 trillion (around US$6.19 billion), while as of July 2024, it has reached Rp46.39 trillion (around US$2.87 billion).

According to an official statement of the House of Representatives (DPR), Commission II of the DPR is supporting the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning to obtain an additional budget of Rp675.89 billion (around US$41.84 million) from the 2023 PNBP.

The additional budget will be allocated for several programs, among others, the PTSL program.

The Commission II has called on the ministry to focus on pursuing targets and ensure land registrations do not overlap to avoid conflicts and disputes related to land in the future.
