The president conveyed this at the Prasetya Officer Ceremony and the Inauguration of TNI-Polri Officers in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
"Be a fast and skilled learner," he stated.
The head of state said he was proud of TNI and Polri officers for gaining mastery over several developments in science and technology.
However, he highlighted that science and technology are developing rapidly, requiring fast learning from TNI and Polri officers.
"Disruption continues along with unpredictable emergence of new development, Industry 4.0, Society 5.0, digitalization, automation, artificial intelligence, geopolitical tensions, trade wars, climate change, and energy transition are all taking place rapidly," he emphasized.
The president then advised TNI and Polri officers to always keep up with changes and gain new knowledge and skills.

Moreover, Jokowi pointed out that the world is currently in the fifth generation of war, typified by not only physical war but also non-kinetic military action and cyber war that can destroy the functions of defense, security, and public services.
Similarly, in the fields of law enforcement and order and security, transnational crimes, online gambling, human trafficking, narcotics and illegal drugs, and advanced cyber hacking attacks occur.
Hence, the president urged TNI and Polri officers to become superior, professional, reliable, and skilled figures while mastering their profession and being able to adapt quickly and continue to improve their abilities, including in the areas of digital technology and artificial intelligence.
On the same occasion, he also reiterated that TNI and Polri officers are the backbone of the nation's defense and security and are responsible for protecting the entire nation.
He called on officers to prepare themselves to serve the nation and state, always be loyal and ready to make sacrifices, and always lead with a heart full of wisdom and virtue.
