Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Association of State Administrative Scientists (AsIAN) has a role in supporting impactful bureaucratic reform and state apparatus (ASN) management.

State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas made the remarks at the "Bureaucratic Transformation Towards Golden Indonesia" event, according to a statement issued by the ministry here on Tuesday.

According to Anas, state administration is an important pillar for effective, efficient, and accountable government.

Therefore, the presence of AsIAN has benefitted the country, not only by providing a forum for developing state administration science, but also by contributing to nation-building.

Minister Anas expressed the hope that the association will support the ASN management cycle.

There are seven paradigms in the cycle, namely recruitment of quality civil servants, professional bureaucracy, quality services, increased investment, job creation, reduction in the unemployment rate, and bureaucratic reform.

"The association can support what the PAN-RB Ministry is striving for," he added.

He explained that the challenges faced by civil servants in the digital era and globalization require innovations and policies that are adaptive and responsive to the prevailing dynamics.

Hence, he said, AsIAN can contribute by providing scientific studies, research, and policy recommendations related to bureaucratic reform.

At the event, the AsIAN board for the 2024–2028 period was also inaugurated.

Meanwhile, acting head of the State Administration Agency (LAN), Muhammad Taufiq, explained how AsIAN will inform the future direction of state administration in Indonesia.

"The association will contribute by proposing recommendations related to bureaucratic models, leadership, public services, and others," he said.

AsIAN's discussions with the ministry will support the government's digital transformation and bureaucratic reform programs.

However, he reminded that scientific dialogue and policy without practice would not benefit the community.

"The discussions oversee digital transformation and bureaucratic reform that can have an impact," he added.
