Central Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) - The Tourism Office of Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), called on hotel managers to not unduly increase prices ahead of a MotoGP event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok.

The MotoGP event, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024, is scheduled for September 27-29.

"The prices of hotel rooms and homestays must remain affordable in accordance with the rules set by the government," Head of the Central Lombok Tourism Office Lalu Sungkul stated here on Monday.

MotoGP and other events held at the Mandalika Special Economic Zone or the Mandalika circuit have had a positive impact on the community's economic growth.

To this end, it is necessary for all parties to extend their support and make the MotoGP event a success.

Sungkul underlined that the 2024 MotoGP event will be held during a holiday season, so there will be relatively many tourists, including in Central Lombok.

According to the office head, in addition to vacationing, tourists visiting Central Lombok can watch the MotoGP race.

"The tourism business in Central Lombok continues to grow after the pandemic with MotoGP events at the Mandalika circuit," he remarked.

He said the lowest hotel room price in Central Lombok, especially in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone, is currently Rp500 thousand (around US$30.88) per night.

"Let us maintain this region to remain safe and comfortable so that investment can continue to be directed at Central Lombok," he remarked.

Earlier on Sunday, President Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priandhi Satria, stated that preparations at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit had reached 75 percent completion.

"What is left to do is sweeping, brushing, rinsing, and painting," Satria remarked.
